Applicants must have a minimum of three (3) years of pump/pumping system experience and possess an undergraduate degree from an accredited university or college in a technical/business field.
In lieu of an undergraduate degree, applicants must possess direct industrial or commercial fluid transfer and pumping systems experience with five (5) or more years in a field/management position and have completed a minimum of seven (7) pump system assessments. After an application is accepted by HI, the candidate will be able to schedule an examination.
Once granted, the PSAP certification is valid for three years. In order to maintain certification, certified individuals must demonstrate compliance with certification renewal requirements during their three-year certification cycles. To qualify for renewal of your certification by PDUs rather than by re-examination, you must show evidence of ongoing pump system optimization (PSO) related professional development and work experience and achieve a minimum of 30 PDUs.
